Instructors

We have on staff a wealth of experience. Some of our instructors have over 20 years of teaching experience, on top of successful careers on-stage. You, or your child, will be guided by the most capable of hands.

Ms. Malorie  - Owner

Malorie CoxMalorie Cox, owner of Elite Dance Centre in East Northport for the past eight years, began her career in dance at the young age of 2 ½ when she took her first dance lessons at Viki‘s School of Dance in Boston, Massachusetts. She knew at a very young age that dance would become not only a passion for her, but also a career. Her early training included four years at Cambridge Rindge and Latin School Dance and Performing Arts Department. She was a member of St. John’s Productions Color Guard Team in Dayton, Ohio and toured with Jam’nastics, Inc. under Ramon Baynes. She also trained for many years at Broadway Dance Center with Michelle Barber, Derek Mitchell, Slam and Luam. She is a 2003 graduate of Hofstra University, where she received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Dance. She has danced in many professional arenas and has worked with stars such as Foxie Brown, Hillary Duff and Beanie Siegel, to name a few. She was also a featured dancer in music videos for Will Smith (Freakin It) and Missy Elliot (Get Ur Freak On). Her choreography skills have twice won her choreographer of the year by Access Broadway. Elite Dance Centre, under the leadership of Malorie Cox, won the 2005 DAP National Championship. Malorie looks forward to leading her students in many more exciting performances and competitions.

Ms. Kristin

Kristin BorelliKristen has been dancing since age 3.Throughout her years as a dance student she danced competitively in solo performances winning many awards for her outstanding talent.She attended Holy Trinity High School where she studied Dance and Theater while performing in many Dance Concerts.  Kristin went on to study dance in College and currently enjoys being a student in NYC at the famous Broadway Dance Center. She’s thrilled to be able to train young dancers and adores all her students.

Jay

Jay FaustinoJay Faustino has been teaching at Elite Dance Centre for the last eight years. 
He goes by the name of Soul Science B-boy Cinematic.  He has competed in the “King of New York”, “Spring Breakin’” and  “Out for Fame” battles.  Jay graduated with his Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work and is currently the co-owner of the sneaker and street wear boutique, Extra Butter.  Jason states that he loves his students and looks forward to them expressing themselves and learning how to rock the beat!

Clinton

Clinton Martin Clinton Edward Martin is a native of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He began his dance training when he was seven years old, dancing at various studios in the Oklahoma City area. He received instruction in jazz, ballet, tap, contemporary, and hip hop, including instruction from Emily Carter Shock as a Senior Company member at Applause Studios. He has won multiple scholarships through different conventions and received irreplaceable performance experience through competitive dancing for over ten years. Clinton was an original member of Dare to Be Soul Dance Company under the artistic direction of Destini Rogers (a top 8 finalist on the first season of So You Think You Can Dance). He has also worked for Silver Tree Productions in several of their “Shows in a Box” and in award winning “David Thomas Presents The World of Magic”. He was also given the opportunity to perform as an extra in Kelly Rowland’s latest music video, “Daylight” and is an original member of FEAR.less Dance Company under the artistic direction of Justin Conte. His teaching experience ranges from teaching 3rd and 4th graders creative movement in New York City Public Schools to choreographing and teaching hip hop classes at California State University in L.A. He was also privileged enough to both teach and choreograph for his own high school musical theater program in Oklahoma as their first student choreographer. He is currently continuing his dance education at Marymount Manhattan College in New York City.

Ms.Melody

Melody Mays.Melody began her dance training under the direction of former New York City Ballet Soloist Frank Ohman at The Ohman School of Ballet in Commack, NY.  During this time, Melody was also a member of Michelle Ferraro's Dance USA competition team.   Melody was the recipient of The Philip & Marsha Dowd Scholarship for two years of full-time study at The School of Ballet Chicago in Chicago, IL where she performed soloist roles with the Ballet Chicago Studio Company in George Balanchine’s: Divertimento No. 15, Serenade, Theme and Variations, and Who Cares?, Corps de ballet in George Balanchine’s Concerto Barocco, Valse Fantasie, as well as Principal role of Dew Drop Fairy in The Nutcracker.  Melody went on to complete her ballet training at the Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet in Carlisle, PA. Melody holds a Masters Degree from Stony Brook University.Melody is passionate about the art of  dance and equally as passionate about teaching her students.

 

Ms. Caitlin

Ms. CaitlinCaitlin joins the Elite teaching Staff this year.  In May 2011 she graduated Cum Laude from CW Post LIU with her Bachelor’s degree in Childhood Education.  She is currently working as a substitute teaching for elementary school districts.   She has been an Elite competitive Hip Hop Dancer for over 4 years and danced on CW Post’s Hip Hop Dance Team.  While in college she was honored with the CW Post Teaching Portfolio Award.  Caitlin also enjoys being a counselor for the YMCA’s Teen in Action Program.
During her HS years she was chosen to and modeled for Glamour Costume Magazine.

Caitlin attributes her love for dance to her training at Elite Dance Centre and always feels at home in the studio.  She is looking forward to educating today’s youth with the gift of dance that she received from being an Elite Dancer!

 

Ms. Alanna

Ms. AlannaAlanna joins the Elite Dance Centre teaching staff this year along with all her dance experiences throughout the years.  She became interested in dance at the age of 2 ½ and has never stopped.  In her High School years she worked as a teaching assistant and teacher for the Great South Bay YMCA Dance Studio while choreographing for her classes and performing as well.
As an English and Pre-Law senior at SUNY Stony Brook, Alanna still finds time to be a member of the University Belly Dance Team and Modern Dance Ensemble.  In addition to her daily studies she is active with Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity where she takes part in charitable events.  She helped fundraise $2011 for homeless children in her role as Resident Hall President through the Carduzzo College Hall Council.  Alanna currently assists with Stony Brook’s Pre-Law Society in preparing students for Law School.
Alanna is delighted to be able to share her love of dance with young students and wishes that they also keep the gift of Dance in their lives as they continue to grow.
 

Ms. Nicole

Ms. NicoleNicole has been dancing for over 35 years. She has been teaching for 25 years and choreographing/directing on Long Island for the last 16 years.  She works at various local community theaters and in NYC.  Her choreography credits include Cats, Swing,
A Chorus Line, Anything Goes, West Side Story, Pippen, Annie and Grease.
 
Nicole has performed at the Patchogue Theatre in The Nutcracker and Broadway on Long Island.  Her proudest accomplishment to date was the birth of her son, Luca, who has become her most important production.

Elite Dance Center is thrilled to welcome Nicole and her talents. Her new Musical GLEE Theatre class combines voice and dance together for an outstanding experience.    

 

Ms. Mandi

Ms. MandiMandi has been dancing since she was 3 years old.  “I have taken everything and anything and love it all!”  she says.  This year she comes to Elite Dance Centre with excitement to teach the dancers here.

Mandi is trained with special needs children and ran the program at David Sanders Dance Dynamics. She currently runs the Special Needs Program for the Town of Islip.  She studied at the Eastern Suffolk Boces Dramatic Arts program.  She was the captain of the East Islip Kickline grades 7-11.  This was an award winning team she was proud to lead.

Mandi has achieved many awards in the competition sector for dance and choreography.  Her credits include a Top Scoring Hip Hop overall awards.
 

Ms. J

Ms. JJ-Net joins the Elite teaching staff this year.  She brings with her over 15 years of coaching from Mommy and Me thru Elite level.  She worked for 2 time Olympic Coach Tom Forrester. J-Net worked at Good Times Gymnastics in Flushing Queens.  She also ran the programs at Hot Shots Gymnastics in Port Washington.  She was the coach for Level 6 Beam State Champions for 2 years.
She competed in the Masters Division at age 26 at Chelsea Piers and won.  Her accomplishments include Visiting Coach at International Gymnastics Training Camp – Pikes Peak Camp, Team USA camp.
 

Ms. Courtney

Ms. CourtneyCourtney joins the staff of Elite Dance this year as a skilled dancer with many competitive accolades.  At age 5 she was prepared to enter her first dance competition.  As a soloist, Courtney held the 1st place Tap tile for her age group.  She has trained in Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Hip-hop, Modern, Contemporary, Ballet, and Musical Theatre each for the past 15 years.  Most of her training is from The Royal Academy of Dance in Moriches, Long Island. 

While in High School she performed with the Varsity Rockettes Kickline as well as continuing to participate in Regional and National dance competitions.  Courtney currently attends Suffolk Community College where she majors in Photography with a minor in Dance.    

When Courtney is not dancing she is volunteering with the Shirley Community Ambulance Company providing emergency needs to the residents of Shirley, Long Island while continuing her EMT training.    
 

Gabe

GabeGabe joins the Elite Dance Centre teaching Staff this year along with a long list of his dance abilities.  He has trained in Jazz, African, Hip Hop, and Modern Dance for the past 15 years.  He continues his training at Broadway Dance Center taking class with the finest teachers in NYC.

He is most proud of his opportunity to dance with the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre in NYC.  He is currently the dance coach/choreographer for the SUNY Farmingdale Dance Team as well as a performer for social functions.

During the day Gabe attends Wilson Technological Center where he studies video production and audio engineering.  He is a motivated student and an equally motivated dance instructor.  Gabe is known for his authentic and intricate choreography.

Part of Gabe’s goal is to ensure that everyone who loves to dance gets the chance to do so.
